O. Henry (1862 - 1910) was the pseudonym of William Sydney Porter, one of the greatest American short story writers of the 19th century and one of the most popular authors of his time. In his short story "The Caballero's Way", published in 1907 in the collection Heart of the West, he created the character Cisco Kid, described as a bandit in the book, he became a hero in film adaptations.
